Bill Brooks is a lead vocalist and guitarist originally from Denton, Texas. He picked up the guitar at age 14, but it wasn’t until later that music became his true calling. He began performing with his siblings in a family band called The Brooks, which launched his early career and led to years of live performances.

He later joined forces with Robin and Chris Creasman to form Backstreet, a Dallas-based band that achieved notable success, including two hit singles and an appearance on Star Search. In 1988, Bill went on to form Moving Colors, a group he continues to perform with today throughout the DFW area.

Bill’s musical influences include Matt Wertz, John Mayer, U2, Dave Barnes, Journey, and the legendary Stevie Ray Vaughan. Outside of music, he enjoys camping, cycling around White Rock Lake with his wife, and spending time with his dogs at the park.

I graduated from Rice University in 2019 with a Master of Music in viola performance, studying under James Dunham. Prior to that, I graduated from Rice University with a dual major in viola performance and music history.

I currently serve as assistant principal violist for the Waco Symphony Orchestra. Previously, I was principal violist in the Clear Lake Symphony. I have also performed with the Houston Ballet Orchestra, the Tulsa Symphony Orchestra, the Abilene Philharmonic, Temple Symphony, New World Symphony, and the Mercury Chamber Orchestra.

I served as an adjunct professor of strings at College of the Mainland in Texas City, Texas. I am a certified music teacher and was previously a teacher and founding orchestra director at St. Mary Catholic School in League City, Texas.

I have conducted private lessons with dozens of students over the years ranging from kindergarten to college.

Jon Christopher Davis (JCD) has written songs for and collaborated with legends, such as Stan Lynch (Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers), Steve Lukather (Toto), Timothy B. Schmit (Eagles), Vince Gill, Radney Foster, Rodney Crowell, Hal Ketchum, Dolly Parton, The Go-Go’s, Billy Ray Cyrus, Dann Huff (Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban) and David Z (Prince, Jonny Lang).

The Texas singer-songwriter has recorded albums for Warner Brothers, Sony, MCA, Curb and Arista Records. His songs have been featured on/in ABC, CBS, FOX, PBS, USA Today, Billboard Magazine, Texas Highways and the Washington Post.

JCD has shared the concert stage with Train, Daughtry, The Roots, Lyle Lovett, Jack Ingram, Radney Foster, Rodney Crowell, Hal Ketchum, Michael McDonald, Toto, Eddie Money, Poco, Pure Prairie League, Restless Heart, Kansas, REO Speedwagon and Robby Krieger of the Doors.

In 2004, he scored a top 40 hit with his dance hall track, “Lone Star Attitude.” The song transitioned into a trademarked brand - Lone Star Attitude® apparel stores (DFW International Airport) and LSA Burger Co. (Denton and The Colony, TX).

In 2009, JCD released “Demos From the Vault (1999-2009).” The double album is a collection of his Nashville demos. guest artists include Vince Gill, Steve Lukather, Dann Huff, Jon Randall and Deryl Dodd. In 2010, he was awarded Song of the Year by the American Cancer Society for “Relay For Life.”

In 2012, JCD was a featured artist on Troubadour TX, a national TV show about Texas singer-songwriters. Between 2014-2020, he released three albums - “Last Night’s Dinner Party,” “New Wind Blowing” and “The Ride.”

JCD is currently in a new Americana-rock band with Stan Lynch (Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers) called The Speaker Wars.
